Researching Summer Programs CRER 104.52, CRN 36890

$50

This class is recommended for high school students and their guardians. In this two-session course, participants will learn how to identify and evaluate both local and national summer programs focused on academic and career exploration. These programs provide valuable opportunities for students to gain insight into potential career paths and develop practical experience in areas of interest. For students who are undecided about their future major, summer programs offer meaningful exposure to a variety of fields. Participation can also strengthen college applications by demonstrating initiative and engagement in academic or career-related experiences, including research opportunities. Many programs offer scholarships or reduced-cost options, though some may require a participation fee. In addition to this course, two complementary classes (College Application Organization and Scholarship Search) are being offered to further enhance participants' knowledge and understanding. Although this course is beneficial as a standalone offering, enrollment in all three courses will provide the most comprehensive educational experience to prepare high schoolers for their next steps. A suggested materials list will be emailed to registered participants before the start of the class. Instructor: Milissa Daniels.
