In this high level overview of Estate Planning, students will have a brief introduction to several aspects of Estate Planning including the Health Care Proxy, Advance Directives and the differences between an Advance Directive, Living Will, DNR, and MOLST, HIPAA Releases etc. Also covered will be the risks of jointly titled property, the importance of the Power of Attorney, the two types of POAs as well as the key provisions in a well-drafted POA. The Probate process will also be covered including what is probate and why it is needed, the three ways to avoid probate, the importance of the Will and most importantly, the key provisions in a well-drafted Will.
