Building on the concepts introduced in Financial Foundations, this course takes a deeper look at investing and long-term retirement planning. Students will explore investment strategies, diversification, retirement accounts such as 401(k)s and IRAS, and approaches to building wealth through different stages of life. The course will also examine retirement planning considerations including estimating retirement needs, preparing for major life transitions, and converting savings into retirement income. Designed for adults at any stage of life, the course emphasizes practical knowledge and informed decision-making to support long-term financial security and independence. Instructor: George Revoir.

This class is recommended for high school students and their guardians. It is never too early to begin exploring scholarship opportunities. This course introduces participants to effective strategies for identifying scholarships aligned with their personal profile, interests, and intended field of study.Students and parents will learn how to broaden their understanding of eligibility criteria, recognizing that scholarships are awarded for a wide range of achievements beyond academics. Volunteer work, community involvement, organizational affiliations, and individual talents can all play a significant role in securing financial support for college. In addition to this course, two complementary classes (College Application Organization and Researching Summer Programs) are being offered to further enhance participants' knowledge and understanding. Although this course is beneficial as a standalone offering, enrollment in all three courses will provide the most comprehensive educational experience to prepare high schoolers for their next steps. Asian Fusion Night: A Shared Cooking Experience FOOD 128.51, CRN 36881

Join us for an engaging Asian Night enrichment class where participants will explore bold flavors and essential cooking techniques while preparing kimchi fried rice, bulgogi beef, and crispy lumpia. Students will learn how to build layers of flavor, practice proper knife skills, and develop confidence in stir-frying, marinating, and assembling each dish. This course will be working in teams of 2 with a loved one, friend, or spouse, creating a collaborative and hands-on experience. The class includes a relaxed dining experience with a glass of wine, offering a fun and welcoming setting to cook, taste, and discover new culinary techniques. Instructor: Chef Mara Vargas-Gonzalez. Please bring a food safe container in case there are leftovers.
